In response to Customer feedback we have launched our FREEPOST sharpening service. No more visits to the Post Office!

Easy to do :

1. Print off Sharpening Form and complete the required information. (Download the .PDF file at bottom of page (requires Adode))
2. Address your envelope carefully as shown on the top of the sharpening form.
3. Add the completed form and chains (please package them so that the envelope is less that 25mm (1") thick). Seal the envelope securely.
4. Put in Post Box, NO STAMP REQUIRED or take to the Post Office if you require proof of posting (issued free of charge). If you wish to send your chains to us via Recorded or Special Delivery you will be required to pay any additional fees at the Post Office Counter.

Payment Options :

• Fees may now be paid online by following the links in the box below and simply adding the number of chains to be sharpened to the shopping basket. Please quote your Order Number on the sharpening form.
• We can telephone you and collect your payment via Credit / Debit card.
• We can send a PayPal invoice to your email account
• Cheque (Please make payable to NewSawChains)(n.b. if you have not purchased from us before we may require 7 working days to clear the cheque)

Our current turn around time is: SAME DAY.

Our sharpening charges are :

The above charges include return UK P&P, but exclude VAT.

The sharpening service includes ;

1) All cutting teeth inspected and reground using a professional chain grinding machine.

2) Depth gauges checked and adjusted as necessary.

3) The chain is ultrasonically cleaned to remove the majority of the grime and oil deposits which have built up.

4) The chain is lightly oiled to relubricate it.

5) A final inspection and then it is repackaged and returned to you.

Your chain should be overall in good condition, no missing teeth or badly damaged drive links please. Should any chains that have been paid for via the links above be unsuitable for sharpening we will refund the cost of the un-sharpenable loop, less any fees should you require the chain returning.

The sharpening service is available for 1/4", 3/8", 0.325" and 0.404" pitch chains. We do not sharpen Carbide / TCT chains.

Return postage and packing will be via Royal Mail, we accept no liabillity for lost or missing chains for sharpening either inwards or outwards for this service. Post does occassionally go missing. If you require a Royal Mail insured & tracked service, please advise us.

Please note that the FREEPOST service is only available to UK customers living within the reaches of the Royal Mail. If you do not live in the UK you CANNOT use the Freepost address and additional dispatch charges will be levied. Please contact us for these additional charges.
